Welcome to Big Sky Downs! This is a virtual thoroughbred racing game ran via this web site and through our forums. We are now accepting applications for our first season and the Grand Opening of the Big Sky Downs racetrack!

Each racing "Season" lasts for 3 months real time. This equals 1 full year of game time. At the start of each season, players are allowed to breed any chosen horses age 5 and up. Any mares bred the previous season have thier foals. During each season, players enter thier horses in different races in order to win money and gain renown for thier farm/horse(s). At the end of each season are the Graded Stakes races for the best horses. Nominations for the Breeder's Cup Graded Stakes Race (the final race with the biggest purse) begin mid-way through the season and voting takes place the week before the "big race". Barns/pastures may be purchased at any time but keep in mind how long they take to build. You can NOT own more horses than you have room for. Horses may be sold or "retired" at any time. For a horse to be "retired", it is sold off out of the racing ciruit and is permanently gone from the game.
Races will be posted each week under "The Track: Races" Reply to the races in which you want to enter a horse with the horse's Name & "Owner". Only one horse may be entered per farm per race, unless otherwise specified. Races must have 5-14 entries to run. Races with 5 -7 entries will only be allowed 1st, 2nd, & 3rd placements. Races with 8-14 entries will also be allowed 4th & 5th placements. Any horse entered in a race that does not meet the requirements (ie a colt entered in mares/fillies or a 3 y/o in a 4+) will be disqualified and the owner will be charged a penalty fee equal to the entrace fee (note the owner still has to pay the entry fee as well even though was disqualified).
